7. Awards report and additional input
• Chancellor Green was supportive of establishing a service award.
• Chancellor Green suggested thinking about micro grants for students for retention. He indicated Donde Plowman was considering this and we should talk with her.
• President Bounds indicated he would have private dollars to help with a service to the university award. He indicated interest in pursuing this idea.

8. Collegial Membership
• Julie Johnson has sent 160 Brochures to Human Resources for the fall retirement seminar. She will attend and will speak briefly about our association. There will be a second seminar in the spring.
• Julie Johnson has contacted UAAD and UNOPA to see if she can come and speak to their groups. Nothing definite has been set up.
• Potential members can go online to become members so the membership chair (Roger Kirby) is the contact for this information. Because of this the Executive Committee suggests we dispense of the practice of approving collegial members.
• Doug Evans, Central Administration employee (long time employee of central administration but not ten years for UNL)
• Executive Committee moves that we consider this policy to address membership issues:
Any official retiree in the university system who desires to join the UNL Emeriti and Retirees Association will be eligible for membership.
