OLD BUSINESS

1. Web Site. Dan Wheeler, reported that by April the final draft of the web site will be ready. Jim Kendrick had reported that the meeting minutes, board minutes, and coffee chats were up, and he was working on completing the site information. We have received proactive help in getting this change made.

2. Emeriti in Service – The Big Event. Herb Howe led a discussion concerning participation in the Big Event sponsored by UNL students on April 9, 2011. Jack Goebel moved, and Nancy Aden seconded a motion to dis=associate from this project. The motion was approved unanimously.

3. New Emeriti, 2011 Faculty Retirements. Bob Kuzelka circulated a form to be used to collect anecdotal information about who might be eligible for Emeriti status in 2011. The list is not available to us yet. Greg Clayton might be able to provide a list of retirees. It would be desirable to have a list by the April Emeriti Board meeting. Dan will send an email request to Chancellor Perlman requesting a list so we can welcome these individuals into the Emeriti Association.

4. Welcome Letters for 2010 Emeriti. It was suggested that we invite the 2010 Emeriti to a free lunch for them and a guest for the April 21, 2011, Emeriti Meeting and welcome them to membership, Bob Kuzelka moved, and Jack Goebel seconded a motion to make this expenditure. Motion passed. They will be introduced at that meeting.

5. Plant Care for Wick Alumni Center. Jack Goebel reported that he had not received any volunteers yet for gardening in the Wick garden. Suggestions included; explaining the support the Alumni Association provides to the Emeriti Association, informing that they can park in the Wick drive while volunteering, being clear about job description of what is to be done and estimate of time involved; enlist a master gardener who needs twenty volunteer hours to lead the work. Jack will talk with Kim Todd regarding possible ideas.
