    (b) Transcription Volunteers to preserve digitally the past UNL yearbooks. This work requires a computer and internet access. Go to http://transcribe.unl.edu ; click on the “Yearbook project”; make an account if you wish; select a yearbook/page to transcribe; type what is on the page; and click: “Save”.

    Monty McMahon, Continuing Education.

  3. Treasurer’s Report. Jack Goebel reported that all outstanding bills have been paid.

  4. Big Ten Retiree Organization Conference 2016. John Bernthal reported the Committee will meet next week after our luncheon meeting. A proposal has been developed for TIAA-CREF contribution/participation. Another committee is working on program structure. Jim Griesen will visit with Chancellor Perlman regarding support for this event.

  5. Brochure and Newsletter. Duane had copies of the new brochure that will be given to new emeriti at the VSIP program on April 14 th at the Lied Center. It was suggested that the “List of Benefits” from the web page be distributed with the brochure. John Comer noted the desirability of having Webpage and Newsletter Committees to deal with the responsibilities associated with each. The Webpage Committee would have responsibility for communicating changes in the webpage to UNL Communications and the Newsletter Committee would have responsibility for producing the Emeriti Newsletter. The Emeriti Association paid UNL Communication three hundred dollars ($300.00) for their services regarding the webpage in 2015 and this amount is likely to be the charge over the next couple of years. Aaron Coleman is the emeriti’s current contact with UNL Communications.

  6. Committee Reports.

Benefits. Doug Zatechka, Chair, reported no change.

Faculty Senate Liaison. Not yet appointed. Kay Rockwell will contact Jim King and/or Jeff Koewn to see if either of them would be interested in serving as Faculty Senate Liaison.

Member Relations. Kay Rockwell reported on the special event tour of the new UNL Outdoor Adventure Center with 17 participants. She said outdoor equipment such as “tri-cycles” can be rented and Emeriti can join with fees fixed for life. This information will be in the fall newsletter.

The next “Coffee House Chats” will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015, 9:30 am, at the Haymarket Courtyard, weather permitting, or at the Crescent Moon Coffee Shop if not.

  7. April Luncheon Meeting. Jim Griesen reported 82 people have registered for the April Luncheon Meeting at Innovation Campus. Premier will cater lunch at a cost of over $17.00/person; members will be charged $15.00, so subsidy is similar to East Union meals.
